WE ARE ANPPCAN MALAWI

ANPPCAN Malawi Chapter is a welfare organization registered under the Trustees Act in 2004. Its mandate is to advance the rights and welfare of Children of Malawi, in particular the orphaned, vulnerable and marginalized women and children.

We are committed to the promotion and protection of children and women’s rights through advocacy, monitoring, information sharing, Organizational and Community capacity building (rehabilitation) and resource mobilization.

WE ARE MEMBER OF

We are nationally, a member of the Council for Non-Governmental Organizations in Malawi (CONGOMA), Human rights Consultative Committee (HRCC), and also Member of Malawi NGO Coalition on Child Rights, Gender Coordinating Net Work NGO,GCN.

We are internationally affiliated to ANPPCAN Africa, a registered Pan-African international non-governmental organization, with its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya and to the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (IPSCAN) in the USA.

OUR MISSION

We are committed to enhance, in partnership with others, the prevention and protection of children from all forms of maltreatment, ensuring that the rights of children are realized.

OUR OBJECTIVES

  1. To promote rights’ education as a basic right for every Malawian child; To promote Human rights and women rights;
  2. To convene and participate in national , regional and international forums dealing with the promotion of rights for all;
  3. To initiate, and conduct, situation analysis on the state and nature of child abuse and neglect;
  4. To accomplish the work built upon feminist values toward the full equality of women, children and human rights of all people.
  5. This includes work towards the eradication of all discrimination based on gender, sexuality, religion, age, ability, ethnicity, language, nationality, class or other factors.
  6. To work as a part of networks that advocate for collective voice, power and influence against child abuse and neglect, as well as any form of violence against women.
  7. To provide a forum that enables the exchange of information on the problems affecting children in Malawi

OUR VISION

ANPPCAN Malawi believes that women’s and children’s rights are not only necessary in and of themselves, but that they are central to end the challenges the world faces today such as eradicating poverty, building peace and effectively tackling the HIV and AIDS pandemics. ANPPCAN Malawi believes that no lasting solutions to the issues affecting women and children are possible without a strategy that puts women and children’s rights at the center. Therefore ANPPCAN Malawi works at building a world where women and children’s rights have been achieved and where all people enjoy their human rights.
