ACHIEVEMENTS

Since its inception in 2004, ANNPCAN Malawi has made notable strides in and through, the delivery of its programs a notable milestones and winning notable child protection awards

  1. We successfully launched the ongoing THINKING FUTURE KEEPING GIRLS IN SCHOOLS Project.
  2. The creation of community, district and regional, child-rights clubs in Malawi in 6 districts of Southern Region.
  3. Attainment of Board Member status at the Human Rights Consultative Committee (HRCC).
  4. In 2005 to date, ANPPCAN Malawi Chapter has launched the Albino Rights to Health, Education and Protection from Abuse (ARHEPA).
  5. Organized Child Abuse and Neglect conferences in Blantyre, Malawi which brought in 224 countries in collaboration with the UN general assembly.
  6. In 2006, ANNPCAN Malawi was elected to be the young general assembly regional office.
  7. Membership status; International Society for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect IPSCAN,
  1. Initiating and implementing innovative Child-care projects e.g. The Child Social and Financial Education (CSFE) project, Positive Parenting project, among others
  2. Producing publications and newsletters on child protection issues
  3. Co-coordinating District March Against Child Abuse and Labor in Blantyre
  4. From 2008 to date ANPPCAN Malawi Chapter introduced the Entrepreneurship Development Scheme with women in the informal sector forming mother support groups and co-operatives to alleviate extreme poverty and hunger.
  5. Participating in, and carrying out, research and related-studies on child rights issues
  6. Initiating a coalition on child rights and child protection activities in collaboration with other Civil Society Organizations
  7. Raising awareness about the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the child
